In February and March, we hosted a series of Newroz events across the UK, where we came together with the Kurdish communities to celebrate and mark the most important event in the Kurdish calendar.
Hearing from Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, we were joined by community leaders and individuals alike from across the West Midlands to mark the occasion.
Taking place at Highbury Hall, we saw singing, dancing and lots of food as we celebrated the evening in true Kurdish style. We took the opportunity to also mark the recent Turkey/Syria earthquake, hitting the Kurdish region of Turkey and devastating countless lives.
We’re looking forward to marking the occasion in Birmingham again next year!
